Annual Refresher

3 Hour Course

To ensure the standards of first aiders remain current, the FAIB and the HSE strongly recommends that first aiders undertake an Annual Refresher Course to maintain the skills and keep up to date with any changes to first aid legislation and procedures. Although this is not mandatory, it was felt that a three year period was too long without any additional training.

Once you have completed the Annual Refresher you will be able to:

  • Administer First Aid

    • Assess an incident
    • Administer and perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Manage Casualties

    • Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
    • Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
    • Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
    • Manage a casualty with external bleeding
    • Manage a casualty who is in shock
