First Aid at Work
3 Day Course
This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation in a prompt, safe and effective way. This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
A minimum of 18 hours spread over at least three days. Ideally the course should be run over three consecutive days, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire.
Assessment is on-going throughout the course by the instructor, and a First Aid at Work certificate will be issued to those that meet the criteria. This qualification is valid for three years, and can be renewed by attending a suitable Two-Day re-qualification course. The FAIB and the HSE strongly recommends that first aiders undergo an Annual Refresher Course to maintain the skills, keep up to date with any changes to first aid legislation and procedures. Although it is not mandatory, it was felt that a three year period was too long without any additional training.
This course covers a wide range of subjects, including:
- Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
- Assessment of the situation
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
- Control of bleeding
- Heart attacks
- Head injuries
- Eye injuries
- Chest injuries
- Strains and sprains
If your organisation has a specific area of training that is not included, or you require a more in-depth session, then we can accommodate you by providing additional training in that particular subject.
